The Open Elm Project is a public crowdsourcing project between Red Robot Studios and the Isle of Man Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to create a detailed profile of the Island's elm population and help monitor and prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease.

Contributing

The Island currently has a healthy elm population of ~200,000 and you can help keep it healthy by recording any elm trees you see.

There is little data on the current spread of Dutch Elm Disease so your reports are valuable and will help prevent the the disease spreading on the Island.

Getting Started

Getting started is easy – just read our identification tips on how to spot an elm tree and look for signs of disease, then use the app or this site to submit your record. Easy!
